Sighting of Hurricane Ree

My daily life's journey can be considered a hidden maze; I have no clue what will pop out from day to day. One day I may be on an incline up what seems to me the steepest mountain trail I have ever climbed. Then by evening, I may be sailing across the sea of turmoil where the waves are raging and the winds are blowing through my mind as I aimlessly land on the island of doubt and fear. The next morning, I am awakened by the sun, so bright and soothing to my spirit and the setting of my soul. Then before I can get a comfortable stance I am knocked down in the valley. How did I get on this roller coaster of life?

What I have found to be the remedy to each rocky encounter is digesting the word of God. Yes, who knew reading the Bible would arm me with the umbrella needed to weather each storm? The daily opening of His Word strengthens my legs to climb that mountain of doubt, calms my mind when riding the waves of fear across the hidden ravine, and coats my feet as I tread through the muddy waters of the valley below. Keeping my focus on God every day and not my circumstances is a great recipe for winning the battles in my mind. But it has to start with an honest and genuine examination of my flawed thoughts and actions, that will lead me to that crossover bridge of identifying and applying His Word to all of my circumstances.

I have concluded that the twisters will come and go and clean-up will begin after the assessment of the damages. It is so amazing to have the tools from the Word of God to make an application of God’s Word to seal the cracks, mend the fences, and align my life until the next storm.
